I have recently been appointed to help design and implement DEI initiatives for the NRDC Development Department. For several years now, we as an organization and the Environmental community, have been working to create a more diverse and inclusive community. I am excited for this opportunity to be a part of this important and LONG OVERDUE work, especially around diversifying fundraising and will be dedicating about 40% of my total time to this work. What motivates you?
I would say my main motivator is being part of a great team and the ability to work towards making our community/world more equitable and sustainable for all. I have had the privilege to work with some amazing, talented individuals and I am constantly inspired by their tenacity, creativity, and passion. Environmental work is a “team sport” and we need everyone to participate to push this forward. What is your favorite thing about Seed?
The awesome people! When I first moved to LA, getting involved with Seed was one of the best decisions I could have made. I have been able to build a strong network of amazing individuals that I can also call friends. How would you descibre your “personal swag”?
I would say my personal swag is always being friendly and accepting of others, staying positive yet realistic/practical, and always willing to help and be there for my fellow seeders/community. -
